We're less than a month away from the 2023 Solheim Cup, which will be played at Finca Cortesín in Andalusia, Spain, the first time the prestigious event will be held on Spanish soil. Team Europe has edged the red, white, and blue in the last two cups. But Team USA, with Stacy Lewis as captain, is looking for a fresh start. They'll also be entering the matches with a new uniform supplier in Dunning Golf. The European team is sticking with Ping for their threads. Now that team rosters have been announced, let's take a look at what each team will wear and how you can flaunt your patriotic pride with official gear.

Team USA Uniforms

In spring 2022, Dunning released its women's collection, taking the same performance technology for the highly celebrated men's collection and applying it to more feminine silhouettes. In August 2022, the announcement about Dunning being named the official uniform supplier for the 2023 and 2024 Solheim Cups was made, and since then, the Dunning team has been hard at work. Sneak peeks of the uniforms were seen earlier this year at the PGA Show in Orlando, where captain Stacy Lewis and president of Dunning Golf, Mike Elliot, exhibited the prototypes on the showroom floor. But Dunning didn't stop there — we got to see the expansion of its women's collection at this year's International Crown, an international match play event held biennially by the LPGA, where Dunning provided uniforms for each of the eight participating teams.

"When it came to creating our Women's Collection, we did not veer from what makes our men's collection so outstanding. Dunning is designed for players in the competitive spirit of golfers at the highest levels," said Michael J. Setola, CEO of Dunning Golf. "Our selection by the U.S. Team validates our goals. We are honored to be associated with the team and the spirit of the Solheim Cup."

Captain Stacy Lewis and her assistant captains Morgan Pressel and Natalie Gulbis have had a lot of input in the development of this year's uniforms. Lewis is known around the tour for her serious demeanor when it comes to the game — and her attitude has been reflected in the gear for this year's cup. Sophisticated, polished, with a very intentional use of color, these uniforms are quite different from what we've seen in the past from the American team.

Lewis believes that the uniforms really bolster team comradery and get players excited for competition. “I am really excited to work with the team at Dunning Golf to create the uniforms our teams will wear for the next two years,” said Lewis. “Uniforms are always a key element in making the Solheim Cup a fun and inspirational experience for the team. While you’re wearing the red, white and blue, you can’t help but feel a rush of adrenaline and patriotism. The Dunning Golf crew has been incredible to work with so far, and I can’t wait to see everything they pull together for our players.”

In past years, we've been accustomed to seeing stars and stripes at the forefront of Team USA's gear, but those motifs are noticeably absent from this year's threads. Dunning has created a few variations of printed polos but they are much more muted — upholding the more sophisticated styling of the captain's wishes.

In the past, we have seen the Americans embrace monochromatic themes, often rocking all red. With several staple red pieces developed by Dunning, we hope to see an updated version of this popular color scheme for Team USA. With an array of prints and solids, Team USA will have several outfit combinations to choose from over the three-day competition.

No matter the color scheme, the performance will be consistent. Dunning has become one of the most performance-driven and innovative brands in the game. Its Coolmax technology, which is a type of polyester engineered to wick moisture and support temperature regulation, has been utilized throughout the Solheim capsule.

Team Europe Uniforms

After kitting the 2021 winning team, Ping apparel has extended its partnership with Team Europe for the 2023 Solheim Cup. After a successful trip across the pond two years ago, Team Europe is looking to retain the cup in Spain. Ping has a unique, long-standing relationship since the event's inception in 1990. The tournament is named after Karsten and Louise Solheim, Ping’s founders.

Lisa Lovatt, Managing Director of Ping Europe, commented: “We are excited to continue our journey with the Solheim Cup as Official Apparel Supplier of Team Europe once again. This contest is one we all hold close to our hearts, so to play a part in its progression is incredibly special. The women’s game has seen some of its biggest growth to date over the last few years, and our passion for supporting where we can has only strengthened.”

Ping has released a range of limited-edition accessories and a full replica kit available to fans available now on pingeurope.com.

On the first day of competition, Team Europe will pay tribute to the host country Spain by wearing a euro-striped polo made of a combination of Spanish red and yellow (from the nation's flag) and European blue. The polo is polished off with the official 2023 Solheim Cup emblem on the chest, and a small Team Europe logo on the right sleeve.

The Europeans have two mid-layers to combine with the euro-striped polo, a white half zip and white vest, to keep the look very clean. To finish off the day one look, is a sunshine yellow skort which will highlight the yellow of the polo.

Team Europe's Saturday design features a knitted tape detail for a sporty aesthetic and a European Shield of Stars, paying tribute to traditional Spanish and European colors. The color block polo in a blue and white colorway, will be paired with the same skort from day one in a matching blue to the polo.

To finish the week, a tribute to the European flag will be on full display, with traditional European stars featured elegantly across the final day's outfit. The polo and midlayer options are each the signature shade of blue, decorated with stars across the chest and back. The design influence on the final day is the boldest Ping pulled together, adding fun star-studded hat options. We hope to see the star bucket hat on full display that Sunday.

Team Europe's captain Suzann Pettersen is excited for what Ping has produced for her team, commenting on the relationship, working alongside Ping Apparel, Pettersen said: “It’s been brilliant working with the entire team at Ping on our current apparel. It’s important to look good, but also to feel good. In all products, we have excellent technical material that will give the players a great sense of stretch and dynamics in their golf swing.”
